About Us
Who we are, what we do...
The African Centre for Security and Counter-Terrorism (ACSC) was formed and formally registered in 2015 as a non-governmental organization in Ghana dedicated to creating the awareness of, and educating the general public about the threats (both real and perceived) and challenges of terrorism; and strengthening our security agencies in the form of training in the prevention and fight against Terrorism in Africa.
The ACSC supports education, training, advocacy, research, and publishes studies specifically on security and counter-terrorism in order to enhance our understanding of public policy in these areas.
As a non-governmental organization, ACSC will develop substantial work with foreign agencies through regional organizations across the globe. ACSC will be a major player in the fight against Terrorism in Africa by drawing its awareness to the citizenry by taking the fight against terrorism to the doorsteps of the people and organizing training for various African Security agencies to respond effectively to the threat of terrorism in the sub-region.
Key components of the training would include: enhancing cooperation, improving border security, developing and sharing best practices on counter-terrorism measures, and enhancing the rule of law and human rights in responding to terrorism. Our commitment is to promote the awareness among the citizenry and to train security agencies across Africa in the fight against terrorism.
This is what we believe in... our mantra.
