Emmanuel Mawanye Kotin is a Security Management, Peace Building, Branding, Project Management and Public Advocacy expert with over 10 years combined experience as a consultant and Civil Society (CSO) Lead in Africa. As the Executive Director of the Africa Center for Security and Counter-Terrorism, Mr. Kotin was part of a team of Security Analyst who reviewed the ECOWAS counter-terrorism strategy and implementation plan and became a leading voice for Africa counter-terrorism strategy and implementation plan in the wake of the upheavals in the Sahel region. Mr. Kotin is a strong voice in the Ghanaian media landscape both in the electronic and print media, and has published a lot of Op-Ed in major national dailies. Mr. Kotin was the Africa Regional Coordinator of Peer2Peer: Challenging Violent Extremism, a program sponsored by the State Department and Facebook where he served as a consultant and a Judge evaluating Students’ creative briefs of over 250 universities for final selection in 55 countries on the program. He was also the project lead in branding and projecting the program in Africa.

Mr. Kotin was a Peace Consultant for the protracted Dagbong Chieftaincy Conflict in northern Ghana as the interface between the National Security Minister, the Northern Regional Minister on one hand; and the feuding Paramount Chiefs. A task he delivered professionally culminating in peace in Dagbong today.

Mr. Kotin is the proud African Recipient of the prestigious 2016 Kathryn W. Davis project for peace grant award for a documentary “a community united against terrorism”.

Besides, these day-to-day engagements, I am completing an international masters in conflict studies at the United Nations Institute of Training and Research in Switzerland. Mr. Kotin also holds MA in development management awarded by the Ghana Institute of Public Administration (GIMPA). This concerned project planning, monitoring and evaluation, with courses such as budget management, organisational and human resource management, public policy making and analysis and legal regulatory framework. An Occasional year in international Relations obtained from the Leicester University UK, focused on globalisation, international security, South Africa politics and foreign policy, American presidents and foreign policies in the Cold War period
